The aperitif takes on the colours of the Levant
In the Levant, dried nuts are much more than a treat: they are a gesture of hospitality. Set on the table alongside tea or coffee, almonds, pistachios, dried fruits and seeds have for generations accompanied reunions, celebrations and the arrival of a guest.
In Iran, this tradition even has a name: Ajil, a generous assortment shared among family or offered to guests.
Artisans du Levant draws inspiration from this ritual and brings its own signature to it: saffron.
Our generous almonds from the mountains of Iraqi Kurdistan and our large Persian-origin pistachios, recognisable by their naturally part-open shells — the famous “smiling” pistachios — are delicately roasted, then seasoned with a touch of saffron and fleur de sel.
Saffron brings an unexpected touch: its warm, delicately floral notes highlight the flavour of the nut without ever masking it. Two original recipes, balancing crunch, saltiness and the scents of the Levant.
Our aperitif almonds and pistachios are made to be shared: over a drink, at a festive table, to welcome friends… or simply for the pleasure of taking another handful.
