Armenia is a land of contrasts. Within just a few kilometres, the landscape shifts from deep valleys to peaks rising above 3,000 metres. Snowy winters, hot summers and dramatic changes in altitude bring a succession of blooms that renew themselves throughout the warm season. This exceptional biodiversity makes Armenia a privileged land for beekeeping. And its honey tastes of a mountain that has remained wild.
The hives are set up in the Lori mountains, far from major roads and any pollution. There, the bees forage on a remarkably rich wild flora: poppies, thistles, wildflowers, aromatic plants, conifers and many other native species. Pollen analysis has revealed up to 72 different floral species in this honey, giving rise to an aromatic expression of rare diversity.
Our honey is harvested and then simply filtered, without being heated, to preserve all its natural qualities. It is a raw honey, unheated and unpasteurised. Depending on the harvest period, between late July and early September, its texture may vary slightly from one year to the next. This is the mark of a living product, true to the rhythms of nature.
Artisans du Levant financed the installation of 100 new hives to allow beekeeping families in the border regions to continue their activity. In these isolated territories, making a living from one's craft is also a way of keeping the villages alive. Among them, Hamlet embodies this passion passed down from generation to generation. Since childhood, he has tended his bees with infinitely gentle gestures, without any protection, in a relationship of trust patiently built over the years.
A luminous golden colour. A supple, naturally smooth texture. A soft, floral and generous palate, blending notes of wildflowers, meadow, and a light resinous touch.
